Supreme Court entrusts CBI with pan-India probe into digital arrest cases, asks States to accord assent

The Supreme Court has ordered a nationwide CBI investigation into digital arrest scams. It also questioned the RBI on why Artificial Intelligence is not being used to freeze accounts of cyber criminals. The court noted that senior citizens are often targeted. Information Technology intermediaries must cooperate with the CBI.
